LiteLLM Review: Open-Source Gateway With Budgets and Routing
Affiliate disclosure: this page may contain affiliate links. We may earn a commission if you sign up or buy through them, at no extra cost to you.
LiteLLM is an open-source proxy that sits between your app and AI providers. Your code talks to one OpenAI-style endpoint, and LiteLLM forwards requests to many different models.
How it works
Your app sends requests to LiteLLM. You create virtual keys for each team or user, set spend limits and rate limits on them, and LiteLLM logs the cost of every call. If one provider fails, it can fall back to another.
Cost-saving tools
Tools like these can automate several of the steps above.
